Yoga

I have been doing yoga for the past few weeks before I attend my morning online classes. Yoga is a great way to naturally wake up your body and stretch and strengthen muscles that you have been sleeping on the night before. Doing yoga in the morning can be as fast as 5 or 10 minutes but a good yoga session that really wakes you up is about 45 minutes. Since online classes have started, I have found myself sitting at my desk a lot more. As a consequence, my back and legs have been beginning to ache. Yoga can combat these aches and pains as help you focus more throughout the day so that more efficient and effective work can be done. If I do not have enough time to do yoga in the morning, the first thing I do when I get out of bed in the morning is called uttanasana. It is a forward fold that stretches the whole posterior chain and allows blood to rush to the brain.

There are many variations of this pose depending on a persons ability and how flexible they are. One of my favorite variations is when you hold each elbow with the opposite had and sway back and forth to bring mobility into the stretch.

I think everyone should do yoga to increase blood flow and focus their mental on the present moment instead of operating strictly by routine. Yoga is also a great stress reliever during these tough times.

This is the morning yoga routine I have been doing. It is only 15 minutes and does not need any equipment. This person also has many other videos that range in duration and purpose. Browse the collection and pick a yoga routine that best suites you.
