A heart murmur is an abnormal heart sound. Usually the heart makes a “Lub-dub” noise which is the sound of the valves slamming shut in the heart. If one of the valves is defected, the usual noise of the heart could sound different. The aortic valve thickens as a result of aging which could disrupt blood flow and cause a murmur. An aortic valve repair is used replace a failing aortic valve. You will be connected to a heart-lung bypass machine and one of many techniques can be used to repair the valve such as adding support to the roots of the vales.
